Gautrain bus services are likely to be disrupted during peak hours on Monday, 09 January 2012 due to an intended illegal action by bus drivers. Contingency plans have been put in place to minimise disruption to Gautrain bus services. Bus services will be available as follows:

GIVING praise and recognition for hard work and dedication is the purpose of the top cop awards that are held each quarter. The top cop awards is an initiative by the Sandton Community Police Forum (CPF) and the Sandton Police with the aim of encouraging police officers to achieve and rewarding those that do. Noticeable improvements in response times have been partly attributed to these awards.

The City of Johannesburg, has appointed Tshepo Makola as the executive director of the Johannesburg Emergency Services. The position of executive director Emergency Management Service (EMS) in the City of Johannesburg became vacant after former head, Dr Audrey Gule left earlier this year. Makola was then appointed as acting head of EMS.

From Friday 16th Dec to Sunday 8th Jan 2012 the Gautrain will be running a special holiday timetable. Essentially both trains and buses will run every 20 minutes on weekdays. Roberto Rosa has been appointed as GM of Legacy Hotels and Resorts' flagship hotel, the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton. He succeeds Hans Prenner, who retires this month after more than a decade as GM.
